How It Works
Essential vitamins & Minerals
IV Drip treatments provide the body with the essential vitamins and minerals it requires by injecting a solution directly into the bloodstream. This facilitates a very high absorption rate and, because it is fast-acting, it delivers efficient results immediately after finishing the treatment.
Our IV drips were created by an industry leading pharmaceutical team, who bring decades of medical knowledge of admixtures and clinical experience in their field. They have formulated a range of solutions that are vastly unrivalled by anything else currently available on the market.
Our IV Drip treatments are only made with premium Health Canada approved ingredients. They are made in Canada in accordance with the OCP in a GMP certified facility. They are also 100% vegan and 100% cruelty free!
What is an IV drip treatment?
IV stands for intravenous, which means a solution is injected directly into the bloodstream.
What makes IV drip treatment better than taking a supplement?
Usually, vitamin supplements are taken orally and go through the digestive system, which may cause gastrointestinal intolerance and often are poorly absorbed. With IV drips, the body receives the vitamins and minerals by injecting the solution directly into the bloodstream; a process that bypasses the digestive system and allows clients to feel the positive effects instantly.
Can I combine my IV with other treatments?
Yes! In fact, we recommend it as IV treatments help enhance the results and healing process of many of our treatments that we offer.
Can anyone do IV drip treatments?
Yes, any healthy adults 18 years and older. If you take any medications or have any allergies, make sure to inform Dr Sithembu before starting your treatment. A health evaluation is mandatory for all of our patients before starting IV treatments.
What can I expect on my first visit to get an IV drip treatment?
There will be a consultation with Dr Sithembu and she will decide which treatment is the most suitable for you. After this, you are ready for treatment. We do our IV treatments in our exam room. You will have this private space to relax while your IV is administered. Dr Sithembu will check your vitals, the puncture site will be sanitized, and the needle will be inserted to administer the IV solution. Then you simply relax while the drip takes course. Please feel free to bring your electronic device or book to keep you entertained. Your hands will be free to use while you get your IV treatment. The appointment is approximately 1 hour and Dr Sithembu will check you every 15mins. Once the treatment is complete, Dr Sithembu will check your vitals a final time and release you with after care instructions.
What does the aftercare for IV drip treatments look like?
We advise the following:
Leave the bandage on for at least 15 minutes. After this time, most people will have stopped the small bleeding that happens after removing the needle; however, if you are still experiencing some light bleeding, replace the cotton pad with a new one and hold in place by applying gentle pressure.
Keep the area clean and dry for at least one (1) hour post treatment.
Avoid intense activity or any stress to the puncture site for 24 hours after the treatment.
Are there any side effects to IV drip treatments?
Even though our IV drip treatments are clinically tested, stability tested and its ingredients are premium and safe, everyone is unique and patients could experience the effects of the treatment differently. Unfortunately, we are not able to foresee if someone’s body particularly will have an adverse reaction, but we have made sure that all which is within our control followed the strictest regulations.
Do IV treatments hurt?
A needle will be inserted in order to set up the IV, so the level of discomfort is comparable to getting a flu shot or a blood test.
Are there any possible complications to IV drip treatments?
The complications are similar to that of getting a blood test done. Even the safest, most studied and tested, of medical procedures can lead to complications. The following are general IV treatment complications that can occur:
- Pain or discomfort when puncturing the skin to administer the IV.
- Failure to successfully place the IV catheter in the vein.
- Need to switch to a different entrance site if the original attempt punctures the wall of the vein.
- Bruising of the puncture area, which should dissipate on its own.
- Blood clots in the superficial vein, which should dissolve on its own.
- Infiltration of fluids from the IV solution through the wall of the vein into the surrounding area, which should be reabsorbed on its own.
- Infection of the puncture area.
- Inflammation of the vein used for injection, phlebitis, metabolic disturbances, and injury.
- Allergic reactions to any of the ingredients in the IV solution, including anaphylaxis, cardiac arrest, and death.
How are Farsk Health IV drips made?
Their exclusive production process is novel on the market and it ensures that their products are safer than any other IV treatments available, as well as more convenient for health care practitioners and patients alike. Farsk Health IV Drip treatments are only made with premium Health Canada approved ingredients. They are made in Canada in accordance with the OCP in a GMP certified facility. They are also 100% vegan and 100% cruelty free!
What makes Farsk Health’s IV drip treatment unique?
Farsk Health IV drip treatments are pre-compounded and ready-to-use. The novelty of being pre-mixed makes them safer than other IVs on the market, for both the administering practitioners and the patients. More details on this below.
How is Farsk Health’s IV drip treatment safer than other IVs on the market?
The bags are pre-mixed in a sterile compounding facility in Laminar Air Flow Hoods, within a sterile buffer room, compounded by trained and qualified pharmaceutical professionals. This ensures the IV bag remains sterile and virtually eliminates the risk of contamination that could occur when mixing on site. They are prepared using only commercially sterile, Health Canada approved, GMP ingredients with DIN from leading pharmaceutical companies, all with indication for intravenous use and never from powders. Because they pre-load the precise amount of each component in each IV bag, they have optimized the health benefits but also minimize the risk for inadvertent errors, such as mixing wrong ingredients or the wrong dosage, which can be harmful and even lethal. The formulation has been assessed for stability to ensure the solution contains at least 90% (the scientific threshold) of the amount of the ingredients on the label. Stability testing also ensures a long-shelf life and guarantees these items remain intact at the time of the treatment. Each IV bag is packaged in an extremely high-quality, medical-grade plastic that does not contain PVC/DEHP, a known cause of health concerns identified as plasticizer. Their IV solutions are pH balanced and isotonic: the same concentration of solutes (substances) as blood in order to minimize vein and red blood cell damage. Electrolyte concentrations and bag volumes are carefully chosen in order to reduce adverse effects such as fluid retention or increased urination. Specifically, sodium and chloride are minimized where possible to help reduce fluid retention post-treatment. Formulations are designed to provide the critical elements such as electrolytes, vitamins and amino acids which are key building blocks to good health in the various treatment areas. They utilize the scientific literature using primary references from high-quality, peer reviewed journals as the basis for choosing the items in their formulations. Nursing time is spent on taking care of the patient as opposed to compounding the solution, which allows for better monitoring and patient assessment.
Why doesn’t Farsk Health offer an IV drip treatment with Glutathione?
Given that currently the type of raw materials available in the market for this ingredient are not suitable for intravenous treatments, those that have glutathione have a high possibility of adverse effects and other health risks. They do not consider the ingredient up to safety standards for IV drip treatments for the time being. However, it is perfectly safe to be used in supplements and topicals through a special formulation. Their Radiance IV Drip contains instead glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. This combination of amino acids triggers the body’s own production of glutathione, allowing for a more bioavailable utilization of this potent antioxidant from within.
How much do the treatments cost?
Treatment price starts at $115 for a single service. We suggest purchasing packages to take advantage of the savings as most people require more than one treatment to reach their desired results.
